Dinosaur books are extremely popular with children! Here’s a few of the best Usborne Dinosaur books around.
For Babies and Toddlers:
This adorable sensory board book incorporates different textures on six different dinosaurs. The sensory patches will delight any baby or toddler. The That’s not my series includes over 30 different titles to choose from!
This adorable board book is perfect for your toddler! This series is all about daily tasks with your little ones. The cute pictures and story will quickly become a household favorite! It’s sturdy and larger than most board books you usually find.
I love this book for any toddler or preschooler. The rhyming, chanting, and interactive print will dazzle any young child. Read mud was used to make this book fun and life-like. And a bonus, the pages are thick and smooth so if a spill happens, they’ll wipe as clean as new! There is now a sequel to this book! Check out I’m a Hungry Dinosaur!
This book will thrill any child. With giant foldout pages, all the biggest dinosaurs on land, sea, or sky are included. A simple timeline shows when each dinosaur roamed the earth. This is a must for any dinosaur lover! A link in the back of the book will help you pronounce these names to become a dinosaur expert!
Although this book is recommended for 6+, I find this sticker book series works really well for children 3+. Rather than creating your own dinosaur, you are using the stickers to put onto the missing part of the dinosaur. Each dinosaur has a corresponding sticker page. For my son, I put a paper clip so he can flip from the dinosaur page quickly to the sticker page.
Children can use this book to think about the stickers more like a puzzle and decide where the stickers will fit onto the dinosaur. The stickers are not repositionable, so be careful when placing the stickers. This book would be more independent play for 5+.
Dinosaurs is an addition to the Shine-a-Light collection. Each page features a colored picture that will reveal a hidden picture when you shine a light behind the page. Children absolutely adore these shine-a-light books and this title is an awesome addition to an extensive collection.
This is a sweet activity book. The book arts out pretty spare in color and many of the dinosaurs heads are missing. Your child can color the extra appendages and then you glue or tape it to the dinosaur to create a pop-up animal.
I did this with my 3 year old. I only did one book at a time. You can see pictures below.
This funny story is in the new Read with Usborne series. Start with the level one books and finish with the chapter books at level four. Each level roughly corresponds to a grade level so this level two would be good for an early second grade reader. The sentences aren’t too long and complex but aren’t overly simplistic either.
This Usborne Young Beginner is a hard back book with beautiful pictures and short sentences. The pages are kept to about two to three sentences on every page. The Usborne Young Beginners Series is a great introduction to Non-fiction books preschoolers and kindergarteners will encounter later on in their schooling.
Although this book is written on a second to third grade level, a preschooler would also enjoy this book.
Higher in level, the Usborne Beginners are written on a third-fourth grade reading level. The Beginners Series contains over 30 different titles. Dinosaurs, along with the other books in this series contain beautiful pictures, rich text, and many opportunities to learn through various text features. These include captions, heading, illustrations, charts, and more. Dinosaurs would be great for a school or home library.
